From the 14th to 25th of May, Turma Curtas – 2nd Film Showcase for Schools will occupy the Vila do Conde Theatre, with exclusive film sessions for school audiences! Students and teachers are invited to watch the most recent selection of works from the children's and youth sections of the 32nd Curtas Vila do Conde: Curtinhas and My Generation.
With more than 25 short films that make up an unprecedented and diverse program, audiences will have the opportunity to discover a large number of filmmakers and their works in this celebration of Cinema that will feature four daily sessions, along with "My Generation" billboards exhibition developed by students of Graphic Design degree at ESMAD, display at Vila do Conde Theatre from 14th to 31st May.
The closing session of Turma Curtas on May 25th will feature the screening of films made in the context of cinema workshops in schools in the region.

In the 2nd edition of Turma Curtas, which takes place from the 14th to the 25th of May, we will have 4 daily sessions exclusive to schools, taking place at the Vila do Conde theatre, at various times:
9:45am | 11:00am | 2:45pm | 4:15pm
The screenings will be FREE for schools located in Vila do Conde and My Generation partners. Secure your place in the 1st edition of Turma Curtas now!
Screenings for schools outside the county: €1.00 per student. The participation of teachers, educators and assistants in the screenings is free. Completing the form is mandatory. For more information, please send an email to s.educativo@curtas.pt.
Curtinhas
M/3, M/6, M/9

Unquestionably the most energetic and fun section of Curtas, the Curtinhas program includes competitions in three age groups (M/3, M/6, M/9), whose winners are decided by an attentive and very demanding jury composed of a group of 10 children aged between 8 and 12 years old.
In Turma Curtas, the 3 screenings of Curtinhas will be presented for those over 3, 6 and 9 years old. This program includes a set of short stories full of adventure and unique characters, but also reflections on themes such as the environment, loneliness or acceptance of others.

My Generation

Aimed at secondary and higher education students, this program involves schools in Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim. The My Generation films were chosen by the students of these schools, who are involved in all phases of the process, from the selection of works, the promotion of this action within the school space and the elaboration of texts, synopses and posters.
In Turma Curtas, My Generation presents 2 screenings of short films that offer a comprehensive look at contemporary society. A diverse selection that addresses themes such as youth, confrontation with the world, through conservatism in gender issues. The My Generation Award, sponsored by Auto Bemguiados, is awarded by the public by filling in the ballot at the sessions of the Turma Curtas and at the 32nd Curtas Vila do Conde, in July.
